DRV8353R: DRV8353R - Supply Architecture vs. STO (Safety) switches at Supply

Part Number: DRV8353R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8353

Dear TI Team,

we plan to use the DRV8353 in a motor drive with safety functionality (STO).

For STO we need to make sure that motor will generate no more torque by cutting of supply or safely pulling low the MOSFET gates.

We plan to cut-off the gate driver supply (VM pin) with a MOSFET switch. VM is +12V in our application to reduce losses inside the DRV.

The motor supply itself (and thereby VDRAIN) will stay active. VDRAIN and motor supply is +48V in our application.

Will that work out?
What happens if VM is cut off while VDRAIN is still powered?
Will there be any internal cross-conduction?
