CCS/BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS: Control loop

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529,

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

We are using BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS: development kit which has MSP430F5529 launch pad attached to drive a 11 pole BLDC motor (30V, rated current is 8.73A and the rated speed is 1200rpm). The configuration is set to 1xPWM mode. There is no load with the motor. We can run the motor till 800rpm before we encountered "Hall Sensor Invalid" error. We have tested on two motors, The result is same. may I know what it is wrong?

Thanks

Best Regards

Xiaolan

  • Xiaolan,

Thanks for posting on the MD forum!

Could you make sure that your hall sensors are aligned correctly with your phase wires? You may have the hall sensors in the wrong order or orientation.

If possible please provide a scope image of the phase voltages and hall sensor outputs together.

    Regards,
