DRV2605L: DRV2605L test information: how to detect vibe noise and judge it as NG or OK?

Part Number: DRV2605L

1. Found SAM module failed error code 0808(vibe diagnostic test) with vibe noise at ATE2 test (Funcational test at module level). The preliminary FA show it's vibe(Linear Vibrator) defect.

2. We use DRV2605L chip to control vibe working. The feature in side DRV2605L include the Auto diagnostic, Auto Resonance Tracking and Reporting and Auto calibration, then sending the result pass/fail to firmware --> ATE2.

So we want to understand more test information on DRV2605L.(e.g. how to detect vibe noise and judge it as NG or OK?)

  • Hi,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

The features for diagnostics in the DRV2605L are used just to verify the presence of a connected actuator. All the closed-loop settings and features are basically related to the actuator back-EMF.

I would recommend to try an auto-calibration with the OD_Clamp and Rated_voltage at the voltage level that your actuator requires. After performing the auto-calibration, you may try the diagnostics sequence again. If it fails, please try modifying the BEMF_GAIN and SAMPLE_TIME.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
