Jayacgandra,
Thanks for posting on the MD forum!
Yes our drivers can be used to drive a SRM. We do not have example code for this but since we offer three phase drivers with protection, you can easily use our drivers.
To help you best select your driver, I would need the following details:
What is your motor max input voltage you plan to use?
Do you need automotive qualification?
Regards,
-Adam
our switched reluctance motor rated voltage is 72 Volts, No-load current is 20 A, rated full load current is 52 Amperes.
for position measurement, we are using hall sensor.
what is the meaning of automotive qualification?
Jayacgandra,
Likely you don't need Automotive qualification if it is unfamiliar to you :).
At 72V you would need our 100V max driver, the DRV8353 (has built in CSA) or the DRV8350 (no CSA). Can your system guarantee that the board voltages will not exceed 100V even with transient conditions like heavy braking of the motor?
Regards,
-Adam
Yes, our system voltage doesn't exceed the 100V. These controllers rated load current capacity?
Jayacgandra,
Load current is dependent on your FET bridge selection, this device is external FET so the driver only controls the gates and monitors the switch node.

-Adam
Adam,
Whether this board is compatible with different control techniques? if yes, confirm that it is running with help of coding or matlab simulation.

Jayachandra,
At this time we do not have simulations available for this device.
The device has 6x PWM inputs so it can be used with any PWM commutation method including FOC, trapezoidal, sensored, sensorless, etc.
We do have a similar device simulation available if it helps you: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvmd44
The sim is for DRV8343 which has similar gate drive operation but different voltage levels and slightly different architecture.

-Adam
