DRV2511-Q1: How to operate the DRV2511

Part Number: DRV2511-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TEST2,

Hi Team

Our team are testing the DRV2511 with DRV2511-EVM.

All the default of the evaluation board were working successfully.

TEST1.

After that, our team modified the

Gain setting from 20dB to 32dB,

capacitor of RC filter between PWM port of MCU and IN port of DRV2511 from 0.22uf to 22nf.

And, we introduced an external PWM signal whose frequency is 50KHz to create a sine waveform, then that went greatly.

TEST2,

, we tried to operate DRV2511 without default MCU in EVM board.

The processes that we have done is below:

applied 3.3V to EN port of DRV2511 directly from a external voltage supply.

pulled down the STDBY, FS1, FS2, FS3 to 0V

then, we introduced the same PWM signal as last.

We found the voltage result after RC filter are lower (about only half of TEST1) than TEST1.

Could you teach us, whether there are any other condition or setting to operate DRV2511 correctly.

Best regards.

Yun Lin

  • Hi, Yun,

Thank you for the information that you have provided.

Could you make a comparison list of the voltage level at each DRV2511-Q1 pin? You should get the same voltage level after the RC filter if all the conditions are the same than TEST1.

Do you use the same PWM input level and signal? Do the PWM interface, external voltage supply and EVM share the same ground reference? What about the power pins, GAIN and REG pins? Do they have the same voltage level in both tests?

    Best regards,
