DRV2510-Q1: A question about Absolute Maximum Ratings

Part Number: DRV2510-Q1

Hi Team

From the datasheet of DRB2510,

the input voltage of the port of EN, SCL, SAL are up to 5.0V

Do that mean the voltage of I2C pull up are recommend as 3.3V or any other value under 5.0v.

On the other hand, the specification of regulator voltage is 6.9V(type value).

We want to understand if we can use just 5.0V for I2C path, because the voltage from regulator are high enough.

It is convenient for us, if we can use 5V supply for I2C bus.

Best regard,

Yun Lin

  • Hi, Yun,

As you mentioned the SCL, SDA and EN pins have a maximum absolute voltage value of 5V. We don't recommend to expose these pins to 5V since a constant exposure could affect the device reliability and there could be risk to cause permanent damage to the device.

3.3V is usually recommended for these pins. Please use values below 5V in order to avoid any damage.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
