DRV10975: How can I change the starting peak current of the motor from 2.5a to less than 1.5a?

Part Number: DRV10975
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61089

When the motor starts from zero to maximum speed,The startup process lasts 2.5 seconds,
There is A peak current of 2.5a on the VBAT line (TPS61089 input), which will cause the battery to overload.
How can I change the starting peak current of the motor from 2.5a to less than 1.5a?
Is there something wrong with the Motor Driver circuit?
  • Hi,

Thanks for posting your question in E2E. Generally speaking, device draws more current during startup to overcome the motor inertia. Peak current can be high if the startup acceleration is too aggressive. Can you try reducing the first order and second order acceleration rate?

    Regards,
