DRV2625: internal wave generator and audio processing

Part Number: DRV2625
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2634, DRV2605, TAS2560, DRV2604, DRV2624

Hi,

Base on my understanding of the manual, the DRV2625 chip itself is able to generate a waveform both Sine and Square, is this correct?

If so, is this possible by connecting and programming it through an Arduino or only through the TDK application?

Can I adjust the presets individually with parameters or only all at the same time?

Is it possible to feed though and amplify an audio signal without it being processed by the chip? Is this possible with the DRV2605? With the DRV2634?

Can you share ani information on the DRV2634?

I came across a blog post on using the TAS2560 audio amplifier to drive actuators. Do you have more information on this topic?

Thank you for your effort and best regards

  • Hi!

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

The DRV2605 and DRV2625 have internal ROM libraries that the user can profit to use predefined waveforms in the desired sequence. There are 123 waveforms available for different effects. These effects parameters cannot be modified.

However, the DRV2604 and DRV2624 have internal RAM memory for user defined waveforms. The user can configure the RAM registers in voltage-time pairs in order to create a specific waveform.

At this moment, we don't have information available about the DRV2634.

The TAS2560 can be used to drive actuators but we encourage the users to select our DRV devices. These devices have a resonance frequency tracking algorithm that allows using the LRA with optimal parameters. In addition, in case any modification of the resonance frequency, this algorithm can adjust the frequency in real time.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments.
