CCS/DRV8350H-EVM: DRV8350H-EVM can not connect to computer

Can you show us a picture of your setup including the EVM and all connections to the PC and power supply?

That's the picture.The led in the left bottom corner is the USB indicated light.in the right top corner three led respectively indicate the power 12V, 5V and 3.3v . It all works well.

When it connect to the PC(win7 x64), It can identify the New device find. But indicate the generic USB Hub.

Picture above is developed board whthout additional function.

I have both tried the win7 x64 and win7 x32，when I connected the device to my PC,It always indicated that A generic USB Hub.

The board you are showing is not the DRV8350H-EVM, it is some other board. Do you have the schematic of this board?

Likely the MSP430 needs to be programmed.

The MSP430 needs to be programmed using the MSP-FET430UIF Programmer and required files. Unfortunately I cannot help more with this procedure or share the needed files because they are confidential.

Oh... It sounds like a very sad story. You mean the drv8350_evm has been programmed before sell？as far as I know ez_FET had a  open source already.

So if I discard the on board ez-FET(contain MSP430F5528 and chip of four channel usb hub .etc.), only left the MSP430F5529 and design JTAG connection with MSP-FET430UIF programmer. Can this connect to PC and acquire the functions about debug and download programs to MSP430? Can this solution works?

Thank you so much , as far as I know , so many lunchpad just like MSP430F5529 LaunchPad Development Kits has the same feature of on board emulator. It all has the 4-wire JTAG interface on the edge of the board. as if it is used to program the ez_FET lite.

Hello, If you are on the line.Today I have debug the program of my board.

It can load the CDC example during debug. Just like below.

It all looks well.But when I debug the example in the folder of E:\ccs\DRV8350x_EVM_BLDC_FW_1.0.0\DRV835X_MSP430F5529_Trapezoidal_Sensored_BLDC(It is decompressed  from Ti source file).

It has a fault of disconnect like below. What's wrong?

Now I have programed the MSP430 and now my board can communicate with PC, but there are still some problem confused me.

1.when I doenload the program to MSP430F5529, It can not spin the motor .

2.Now my board can communicate with PC and can download the code in the folder of E:\ccs\DRV8350x_EVM_BLDC_FW_1.0.0\DRV835X_MSP430F5529_Trapezoidal_Sensored_BLDC, but when I use the drv835x_evm.exe,  It shows no com port of MSP430 USB EXAMPLE in the device manager so I  connot use the GUI.

Just now ,I tried a new board and followed the instruction to have finished programming MSP430F5528, Now it installed the all COM Port, just like below.

So I can use the GUI of Drv8350x EVM. But as I enabled the DRV8350H device, the NFault indicated led light on, it shows unknow error,  So how can I further my debug.

Could you please help me to put this thread to the TI MSP430 DRV team?
