BLDC motor drive IC with integrated current sensing

Good morning to all,

1) I would like to know that, is there any ic for BLDC motor driver IC with integrated current sensing. Peak Current up to  10A. ( similar to DRV 8874Q1 for brushed DC motor)

2) Is there any IC with pmw generation with driver IC for brushed DC motor application?

3) Is there any IC equivalent to MC 33035 from TI / differnet configuration?

4) Is there any IC similar to DRV8874Q1 with peak current up to 10A?

    Thanks for posting on the MD forum!

    The integrated current sensing, do you mean a current shunt amplifier? Is it okay for the sense resistor and FETs to be external?

    For the MC33035, you should check out the DRV8323, this is our 60V gate driver which seems very similar but has some extra features.

    I am assigning this post to my colleagues in the Brushed group who can answer the remaining questions.

    What are your voltage and current requirements?

    Are you looking for something like the DRV8832? Please use the DRV8832 as a starting point, and let us know what features you need or do not need.

    4) Is there any IC similar to DRV8874Q1 with peak current up to 10A?

    The DRV8873 and DRV8873-Q1 have peak currents up to 10A.

    The DRV8412/8432 have higher peak currents, but are not similar.

    Hello Adam,

    Integrated current sense means current sensing through mirror current sense internally with out external current sense resistor. Is there any driver ic for BLDC motor control with 10 A peak current capability?

    Voltage : >35 V, Current requirement : Peak 10A.

    4) Yes, Drv8873HQ1 is meets my requirement. I have some doubts:

    a) In this current sensing at higher side mosfet side. But not mentioned from source to drain or drain to source. I hope mirror current sense in both directions is it correct?

    b) If above statement is correct means, at the time of break, HS1 and HS2 upper two mosfets will sense current. is it correct?

    Current is only sensed from drain to source. If the device is operating in high side slow decay, one FET has current flowing from drain to source.

    As mentioned above, current is only sensed from drain to source.
