DRV10987: About the Open loop current

Part Number: DRV10987

Hello,

Our customer use the DRV10987 and have a question.

It is possible to configure the OpenLCurr from 200mA to 1.6A.

How about the variation of this current due to the variation of process ?

Of course I know it is not guaranteed.

Regrds,

Naoki Aoyama

  • Hi Naoki,

Thanks for posting your question in MD forum. Yes, it is possible to configure the open loop/align current from 200 mA to 1.6A. This open loop/align current is the current injected to the motor phases to align the rotor position during startup. Process variation should not affect the current variation as all the parameters are trimmed to the target value before releasing parts to the market. Is the customer looking for an accurate align current to align the rotor?

    Regards,

    Vishnu

  • Hi Vishnu,

    Thank you for your reply.

I will feedback the customer that the parameters are trimmed.

If the customer have a problem, I will post a question in another thread again.

    Thanks,

    Naoki Aoyama
