BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM: Motor drivers forum

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM

Hi!

I am using BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM with a 12V battery.

It's 3 PWM mode and the input 3 phase signals (100kHz/ 20%) is shown below.

What I am trying to do is to run the motor as a starting mode before doing anything further.

I was able to run the motor and it is jerky. But after 5 secs, all FETs and capacitor became really hot.

All I did was to make switching speed of 3 phases a bit faster.

They became really hot even without changing the switching speed of 3 phases.

I changed PWM frequency from 100kHz to 32kHz and they are still hot.

The motor was a small motor.

I have no clue what it causes this.

Could you suggest any possible issues here?
