DRV8705-Q1: how to control PWM duty cycle and direction

Part Number: DRV8705-Q1

Team, my custmer is asking - In reverse and forward mode, if I need to control PWM duty cycle which control signal do I need - IN1/EN or IN2/PH? And which one to control the current flow direction? It is not quite clear from the table.

Thanks

  • Hi Viktorija,

The answer depends on what the customer would like to do when not in Drive.

If the customer would like to enter Diode freewheel (coast mode), IN1 and IN2 should be set to 0.

If the customer would like to enter Active freewheel (brake mode), IN1 and IN2 should be set to 1. The current path is set through the high side FETs or the low side FETs by the BRG_FW bit.
