DRV10975EVM: about EVM with GUI

Hello,

Q1:

From "Tuning Gide(SLOU395D)",

"Theoretically, we should choose the threshold to be as small as possible, because we can resynchronize the motor with lower speed.".

What is "resynchronize"? Please let me know detail of "resynchronize".

Q2:

From "Tuning Gide(SLOU395D)",

"Unless the application requires two-direction spinning or it is possible for the motor to have reserve speed before startup, the Enable Reverse Drive function and Brake function should be disabled.".

If motor has rotation by inertia, I think that I can setting Reverce Drive. Is my idea correct?

Q3:

From display for number of rotations on GUI,

I am using a 12-pole motor and I have entered 12 in the Pole field, but the value deviates from the actual motor speed.

If TI has how to fix that please let me know it.

Best regards,

ACGUY

  • Hi!

Thanks for posting your question in MD forum. When the motor is spinning in forward direction, the speed and position information measured during ISD are used to resynchronize the motor directly to the closed loop without needing to stop the motor. I will get back to other questions shortly.

    Regards,

    Vishnu

  • Hello Vishnu,

Do you have any update? I looking forward your reply.

  • Hi ACGUY,

    Please see my response below

Yes, if your motor has high inertia and low friction, then reverse drive feature will be helpful to reverse accelerate the motor through zero speed and to continue accelerating until the closed loop threshold is reached.

This is a known issue. The Motor speed displayed in RPM in the display tab in GUI is incorrect. Please use the Motor speed in electrical Hz to read the motor speed and then convert to rpm using the below equation:

Motor speed (rpm) = 60*Motor speed in electrical Hz/Pole pairs.
