BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS: Using internal LDO to supply VREF

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS

Hello,

I was wondering if I could use the DVDD from the internal voltage regulator to power the VREF.
And if so, why was the output of the buck regulator used for supplying VREF on the BOOSTXL board? Wouldn't using the DVDD output be better?

  • Arthur,

Thanks for posting on the MD forum!

DVDD can source up to 30mA externally. VREF should only take 2-3mA so it should be no problem assuming DVDD is only used for other low current reasons like pull-ups or reference voltages.

The EVM uses 3.3V for driving some LEDs and other on board ICs so therefore we needed more than 30mA and so the buck was used.

    Regards,
