DRV8323: SPI always responding 0x FFFFon BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS with MSP430F5529 using the sensor sample code

I am using a BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS with MSP430F5529LP. When using the sensored sample code (DRV832XXEVM Sensored) the SPI commands do not work. The SDO line is always high reporting 0xFFFF for all register values. Below is a picture from the logic analyzer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting on the MD forum!

Have any changes been made to the hardware or software?

The SDO line on the board is pulled up with an external pull up resistor since the SDO pin is open drain. Can you confirm that the ENABLE pin is high and the VM/VDRAIN are powered? What is the status of the nFAULT pin?

Hello Adam thank you for the response. The ENABLE pin was low... I changed it so the enable pin was driven high and it works.

I made no changes to the software or hardware, is there anyway to tell the software team at TI about the bug? The ENABLE pin is driven low during SPI setup so it does not work.

What time period are you referencing "SPI setup"?

How did you enable the device?
