DRV10970: Maxon EC Motor application circuit with DRV10970

Part Number: DRV10970

Hello.

I am trying to use the Maxon EC motor with TI drv 10970 single chip motor driver.

But it is not easy to use drv 10970.

I have to control speed and position of the motor.

I am using 12V 3 phases 3 hall sensor motor. ex. maxon ec 315172

Could you make the circuit like below picture?

And could you answer the what I have to do in DAA and CMTMOD and BRKMOD?

Thank you.

  • Hi Hyunbin,

Thanks for posting your question in MD forum. DAA is the Drive angle adjust pin. DAA can be left floating for adaptive drive angle adjustment. CMDMOD is the Commutation mode setting. This setting depends on the HALL placement setting. Hall placement can be identified by spinning the motor by hand and cheking the phase difference between BEMF voltage and Hall outputs. Check figure 25 and 26 in the datasheet for more details. BRKMOD is the brake mode settings. This when pulled high, the phases are driven low (braking) and when pulled low, phases are tri stated (coasting). Can you upload the complete schematic? The screenshot that you uploaded doesn't show the complete schematic.

    Regards,

    Vishnu
