Hello,

I would like you to confirm about below.

* According to datasheet of DRV8306, this device has "HPA/HNA" for Hall element input.

However, my customer will use external comparator for Hall element due to input voltage range of "HPA/HNA".

(There is possiblity that input range is deviated (1.5V-3.5V) because they will use 12V.)

When I check datasheet, you describe how DVDD can use and connect to HPA/HNA for hall element. But there is no description about external comparator usecase.

So could you please confirm about following my questions ?

Q1. Can user use external comparator ?

If no, should we change device such as DRV8304 ?

Q2. If yes, could you please show connection example ?

I'm sorry we do not get parts number and schematic because customer is now under investigation stage of device.

At first, I just want to confirm whether DRV8306 can accept external comparator for hall element or not.

I understood DRV8306 may accept external comparator, but need to confirm configuration if the configuration really can be used in system.

Is my understanding correct ?

Machida,

The DRV only looks for HIGH or LOW input on the Hall sensor inputs so as long as your external circuit can provide this, it should work.
