DRV10983: Time from start up to Openloop operation

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DRV10983?

How long does it take time from start up to Openloop operation?
We would like to know following ①;
①From start up to begining of Align operation : we could not find it on the datasheet.
②From Align operation to begining of Open loop operation : it depends on Align time setting
Especially, after Speed pin is added voltage, how long does it take time to start Align operation?

<Customer's setting>
Stand alone with EEPROM setting
Speed control is used for analog voltage.(Speed pin)

Hi Hirotaka-san,

Thanks for posting your question in MD forum. There will be a propagation delay in the order of micro/nano seconds between the analog voltage applied to the PWM/Speed pin and the start of the align operation. Also there will be a delay based on the align current ramp rate.The exact number can be measured using an oscilloscope by measuring the delay between the PWM/Speed pin voltage and the align phase current (DC current).

->OK, we got that Align time is predominant.
We infrom our customer to measure current or motor voltage.

Thank you for your cooperation always!

We got that what the customer has trouble.

At their product with DRV10983, in case of start up, it needs 850ms from power on to Align operation.
So, we assume it cause of stand by condition.

So, in order to start to operate early, do you have any way to avoid to stanby mode in case of start-up?

Hi Hirotaka-san,

Is the customer applying voltage to the Speed pin before powering up the device? Device will not be in standby mode when it reads voltage higher than the threshold during power-up.
