DRV8350H-EVM: GUI not allowing sensored option

I installed the GUI software per the instructions in DRV8350x-EVM GUI User’s Guide. When the software connects to the EVM, the Sensored option disappears and I can only select sensorless. It appears the sensored drivers are not installed or the EVM is detected as not supporting sensored.

I also installed the three 0 ohm resistors in R46, R48 and R51 (not the R82, R84 and R86 incorrectly stated in the User's Guide)

How can I get this board to drive a sensored motor?

You will need to install CCS and configure the board for sensorless by flashing the DRV8350 Sensorless code as mentioned here:

Yes, I had seen that, but that document makes reference to DRV8350x_EVM_BLDC_FW code with no indication of where to find it. A search of the TI site does not list this code.

The User's Guide says this:

The DRV835X Reference software contains the files required to program DRV835X devices along with the MSP430F5529 using CCSv5.x or CCSv6.x. All of these files are included in the installation package.To access this package,contact the DRV8x applications team or the respective field-sales engineer.

So where do I get the code?

Missed that. Thanks for your help. May I suggest that you mention somewhere in your docs that the GUI does not support Sensored motors?

Dan,

The GUI does support sensored motors but the standard firmware is for sensorless, once you flash the sensored firmware the GUI will show up as Sensored and work correctly.

Ah, I see. Again, this would be good information to have in the docs. Wasn't clear that I had to go through all these extra steps.
