DRV8301: Vibration of Miller platform driving H-bridge

Part Number: DRV8301

Hi Team,

Customer has the question need your help.

The schematic diagram is as follows. The upper and lower tube opening drive waveform can occasionally capture the following waveform. There is a risk of up and down through. This is also the case when the motor is not connected. It's okay within 20A after connecting the motor. After the peak value reaches 60A, the tube is directly broken down. The customer changed the drive resistance to 2 ohms to 10 ohms, but the waveform did not change much.

Thanks,

Annie

  • Hello Annie,

I'm interpreting the waveform and description as a shoot through situation were, for example, GLA is not completely turned off before GHA has started to rise.

Have they tried reducing the GATE_CURRENT bits to 0b10 and increased the DTC resistor to 150k ohms? This will reduce the drive current and increase the dead time. The higher gate resistor should help slow down the rise time, so they should keep that during their test.

    Best,
