DRV8353RH-EVM: works with the F28069M ?

Good day.

Just like to inquire if the DRV8353Rx-EVM can be made to work with the F28069M instead of the  ISO-F28027F that comes with the EVM?

    I will give a more complete answer tomorrow, 11/24/20. There is a holiday this week in the US so I ask for you patience as there will be some delay in a proper response.

    For now, there's usually a table that explains launch pad connections in the DRV8353EVM user guide. This should give the MSP or C2k functionality as well as the DRVx functionality. Using that, you should be able to cross-reference the nodes with applicable ones on the F28069M. Try Table 1 and Table 2 specifically: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvub79a/slvub79a.pdf

    Actually, the answer is sufficient above. I've copied and pasted the tables below for your reference here.

    We expect users to implement their own FW by this point so feel free to ask C2k about any questions in regard to the peripherals and let us know if you don't understand the purpose of any of the DRVx columns on the launch pad.

    This means that the F28069M should work on the DRV8353Rx-EVM? 

    No re-wiring must be done on the EVM, just FW (firmware) implementation from the customer side?

  • Hello Art,

    Yes, no major rewiring. Note, some of the launchpads have DAC outputs that can control the voltage on the HW input pins (VDS, MODE, etc) and this launchpad doesn't have that so be sure to change the resistor values directly on the board instead of writing FW to control the voltage on those pins.
