DRV8428: What is the recommended bulk capacitance for 16.5V input, 600mA to the motor?

What is the minimum capacitance that should be used for this application?
One challenge they have is height limitation, it only allows for 4mm height components. 

Are there any other suggestions other than electrolytic caps?

    Lauren,

    Higher value ceramic capacitors will also work and help meet the height requirements.  One rule of thumb is 2-3uF per watt of power.  Power is ~10W in this case, so a 22uF ceramic would be a good place to start and if there is additional board area, add a space for an additional 10uF or 22uF capacitor.
