DRV8353: DRV8353H Gate driver Fault issue

Part Number: DRV8353

Dear TI Expert,

I'm using DRV8353 for my SRM inverter and while running no load with motor say(4% PWM duty) everything works fine. When I start loading Say(7% PWM duty) the gate driver fault arises. Whenever I give more than 7% duty, the fault arises. I have checked the I drive configuration and already I have tied it to DVDD which is highest configuration. I have checked Power supply for discontinuity, It works well. Herewith I have attached the schematic of gate driver and inverter. I have pulled up mode pin to DVDD for 6X PWM configuration. which is not mentioned in schematic. The current at 4% is 1.5A rms and at 7% is 2.5A rms. The current at 4% is 8A peak and at 7% is 14A peak.

Best Regards,

Kumar

  • Hey Kumar,

Have you verified the fault table and ruled out possibilities of what fault shouldn't be triggering? Check the table below.

While "power supply discontinuity" is not very specific in context of the device, I'm going to assume you mean VM has been verified, with an oscilloscope to look for ripple instead of an averaged DMM result. That's helpful but it looks like there are more conditions to verify.

Edit: I don't see anything concerning about the schematic.

    Best,
