DRV8880: ATE pin and DECAY0/1 pins

Part Number: DRV8880

Hello. I am using the DRV8880 with the smart-tune feature. I have a PCB design that pulls the ATE pin to V3P3, as the data sheet suggests. I saw in the smart-tune data sheet section, it stated that the decay mode pins are ignored when smart-tune is used, and in my PCB design I left the DECAY pins as no-connects. I later noticed that the section on the decay pins instruct to tie the two decay pins to GND if smart-tune is used. I intend to change the layout to tie the decay pins to GND as instructed.

The device appears to be functioning properly as far as I can tell. My question is: what is the impact to the device by leaving the decay pins floating with the ATE pin tied high?

Thanks, Charlie
