DRV8353RS-EVM: cannot connect to drv8353rs demo board

Dear all,

i'm trying to test the DRV8353RS-EVM with the online tool dev.ti.com/.../

If i select the DRV8353RS the too connects to the TI cloud agent and downloads program. After that the firmware is downloaded into the TMS320F28027.

This is confirmed through the message "flash successful". But then i see "Hardware not Connected" in the statusbar.

Do you have any idea's what could be wrong?

Hello Robert,

This sounds pretty strange. What happens when you try to click the button to the left of the not connected message in the bottom left of the GUI? Does it throw an error?

If you press F12 on the GUI page, which opens a new window, and navigate to the Console tab, is there an error message that shows in the console after clicking that button (which attempts to connect to the EVM again).

Hello Robert,

Looks like things got stranger. I was expecting to browse the log files and see where the GUI tried to connect with the ISO-F28027F and then failed. But I can't find that.

Can you specifically clear the console window by using the trash can symbol in the top left hand corner of the window, so we don't get any info from the GUI starting up? Then, connect to the GUI using the instructions below and see what it says and what the status of the disconnect and connect symbol shows?
