I following the DRV8701 User's Guide. www.ti.com/.../slvuag3.pdf .

Step1, I try to download GUI Composer Runtime, but the link was shut down from wiki. So I download it from TI webpage

Step2 is ok,

Step3 FTDI driver is ok

Step4, I follow 2.2, Hardware setup, VM -Gnd with 24V, then I run exe file, the GUI showed and can find the com port. but always in Red X's state. Never changed to green.

----Please help to solve this issue , my computer WIN10.

Hello,

The issue seems to be that the EVM is not connecting to the GUI.

Did you ensure that the EVM is connected to a power supply? Is the STATUS LED on?

The status Led D1 was blinking when connect with Micro USB to computer, and the VM led is solid on with DC24 supply. Below is my set up.

And I try another the Win7 computer, the same situation for the GUI interface show Red X.

Hi,

I check the FT232RL is ok, seems the DRV8701EVM GUI not work, because I check the RX and TX of MCU, no any signal and always be 3.3V.

but when I use the DRV8873HEVM GUI for the DRV8701 PCBA, I found RX and TX have signals even this GUI do not match the board.

Can you give me GUI Composer Runtime download link to retry another newer version, especially for WIN10.

Let me know if this composer version works.

Please ensure to uninstall the DRV8701EVM GUI and the current GUI composer runtime you have installed before installing the new runtime.

Dear Pablo,

Thank you so much. With your link the EVM can work now.

And I want to share something to other user. The "GUI_Composer-6.2.0.1-Setup.exe" was first blocked by my computer's security policy, so I setup in another computer. After setup, I copy the whole folder "C:\ti\guicomposer" to my first computer with the same location, and follow the other steps mentioned in the EVM User's Guide, now works normally. It seems like green setup with this transfer.

Hi Arlen,

Please go to this link, scroll down until you see "GUI Composer v1 Downloads" and download "GUI Composer Runtime 6.2.0.1 (CCS v6.2.0)". This will take you to TI site where you have to create an account to download the software.
