DRV8350R: Pad spacing vs IPC2221-B

Dear Support,

My customer will use our HV driver at ~48V (56.5Vmax).

Considering our 0.5mm pitch package (=0.26mm spacing between pins), could you tell us how to respect the IPC2221-B standard (layout, etc...)? It seems that a 48V application needs a 0.6mm minimum spacing following this standard:

Regards,

  • Hello Sebastien,

In high voltage applications our customers will usually apply a polymer or conformal coating (Columns B4 or A7) to the board.

This appears to be common in 48V applications and may be required by other semiconductors & passive components on the board.

    Thanks,

    Matt
