Please let us know about following.

1.About tDEAD TIME

If user has time between INHx rising and INLx falling, does they always need to set tDEAD TIME resister ?

If you have example figure when there is time  between INHx rising and INLx falling, please send it to us.

2.Please let us know about GDF(Gate Drive fault) occurrence condition .

3.Please let us know about Low-Side Source Monitors

This fail happen high current events such phase shorts cause SLx pin voltage to exceed 2V.

Please let us know what kind of conditon cause phase shorts ?

  • Hello Kura,

    1.About tDEAD TIME

If you are inserting dead time themselves on the INHx and INLx inputs, you can set the DEAD_TIME to the lowest setting. If the inserted dead time is not enough, the driver will add additional delay time to ensure there is no cross conduction.

2.Please let us know about GDF(Gate Drive fault) occurrence condition .

GDF will occur if any MOSFET gate is above ~2V when the gate should be OFF, or below ~2V when the gate should be ON. The driver waits until the end of IDRIVE before detecting GDF.

3.Please let us know about Low-Side Source Monitors

    • This failure can be caused by motor winding short resulting in very high current through the sense resistor. With very high current the voltage at the low-side source would also be very high.

    Thanks,

    Matt
