Hi Team,

The customer asked questions when connecting MCU to DRV8316.

It's a 5V MCU.

Question

Q1. The AVDD output voltage value is 3.3V, should the VREF be used as a 2.8V to 3.3V input?

Q2. Is the VREF value 5V value available?

Q3. If I don't use the BUCK function, do I just need to disable the PIN NC & BUCK_SEL bit?

Hello Cho,

VREF should be anywhere from 2.8V to 3.3V. VREF cannot be 5V. In the datasheet, AVDD specification is incorrect (-0.3V to 5.75V) - it should be near 3.3V for the max spec. This will be updated later.

If the BUCK is unused, please set BUCK_DIS = 1. Allow me to confirm with the team the status of the buck pins in hardware if you are not using it.

Hi Cho,

You need to connect the external components for the buck regulator. The pins cannot be left floating with the current revision of the device.
