DRV8873HEVM: DRV8873HEVM

Part Number: DRV8873HEVM

Hello,

I am having troubling getting this product working. the nFault is always low from start up. I am unable to drive an output.

I believe the cause is that VCP voltage is equal VM(28V) - 0.3V. When it should be higher than VM (+5V?).

Ive check the schematic multiple times and it follows the datasheet and i have tried multiple parts to see if it was a single part issue.

Let me know what could be causing this.

thank you,

  • Hi Marshall,

How are you measuring VCP with respect to GND or VM? Can you provide a waveform of VM with respect to GND, VCP with respect to GND, and nFAULT (set the scope trigger to nFAUT falling edge)? If VCP<VM+2.25V, a charge pump under-voltage fault will be triggered which would explain the nFAULT latching LOW.

Do you see the Fault status on the GUI turn red?

Have you checked that the device is awake. nSLEEP should be logic HIGH for the device to be awake. If not, the charge pump will be disabled.

  • Hi Marshall,

Any updates from your side? has the issue been resolved?
