DRV2605EVM-CT: LRA control method

Part Number: DRV2605EVM-CT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2605

Hi,

I have some question about DRV2605EVM-CT for LRA/ERM haptic application.

1. It use MSP430 ADC to detect touch cap voltage change then enable motor driver DRV2605 to control LRA/ERM haptic, right?

2. I can't find Effect Buttons in DRV2605EVM-CT BOM. What is the button vendor is?

3. If we suggest customer used same MSP430 solution, we have default ROM can support to them?

Thanks!

Jeff

  • Hello Jeff,

The MSP430 on this EVM is using digital IO pins to get the input from the buttons. The buttons are part of the layout on the EVM. If you take a look at the layer plots of the EVM in the user's guide, these can be seen. If you are interested in having an MCU with capacitive touch, I would recommend looking at the MSP430 line that has capacitive touch built in as they are very easy to use. I recommend reaching out to the MSP team in a new thread for more specific recommendations if you need more help.

    Best Regards,
