DRV8904-Q1: Questions of DRV8904

Hi team,

1. For DRV8904, its dual H bridge, and each channel peak driver current  to 1A, from the application schematic, seems can realize parallel connection to increase the drive current range. If do this application, has some special attention or not?

2. DRV8904 has a lot of NC pins, has higher peak current, single H channel, and size more compact type, function similar to DRV8904?

3. Fault  diagnostic function by SPI, how about the detailed  protocol to recognize the fault type? pls share us.

    Yes. DRV8904 can realize parallel connection to increase the drive current range. I don't remember any special attention. If I have to say, I would think the parallel output's joint point should be close to the DRV8904. So, each output have similar resistance to make sure the current balance.

    DRV8904/6/8/10/12 are come from the same family, they have similar pin location. We have many devices can support single/dual H bridge. Please let us know the input voltage range, output current range, special function (current regulation or not, open load detection or not...) You can also search it up from https://www.ti.com/motor-drivers/overview.html

    The fault type can be read out from the status registers.
