DRV2604L Auto-Calibration ERM Issue

it must be attached to something (some weight) to pass the calibration.

No, I've been pressing the motor against the table to pass the calibration or I have attached it to a test rig. Either way, the calibration does not successfully pass. Also here are the scope captures that I forgot to attach.

what is the register 0x1d value?
please try to use a longer calibration time to see whether it makes difference.

My 0x1D value is just 0x00. I've also tried using the longest auto_cal time by setting register 0x1E to B00110000, which still resulted in failure of calibration. Thanks for any help!

i find some improper setting in your configuration.
from what i see:
ERM is configured to close loop mode, BirDir_input = 0, DATA_FORMAT_RTP = 0.
this is not a supported configuration.

please check the DRV2604L data sheet (Data Formats for Waveform Playback).

I've updated the ERM settings to be in closed loop mode, Bidirection input = 0, and data format RTP to 1 (0x1D = 0x08), Calibration still not working unfortunately.

Do you have DRV2624 EVM? i am not sure what is happening here.

you can try DRV2624EVM or send several samples of this actuator to us, we can look into  it.

I don't have the DRV2624, but I'd be happy to send you samples of this actuator. What do we need to do to set this up?

I would like to get to the bottom of the issue you are having with the EVM. Can you update your Haptics Control Console with the latest version, and then flash your EVM with the latest firmware. Below is the link to downloading the latest version 1.5.3:

We're currently just using the chip directly with the actuator without using a Haptic Control Console or evaluation module. However, we're in the process of purchasing the the haptics control console for the DRV2604L.

Ah very good, I misunderstood. The Haptics Control GUI is downloadable for free on the link provided. One thing to note is that if you are looking to purchase the DRV2604LEVM-CT or DRV2604LDGSEVM-M, you will need to use the USBCOM device to communicate with it.

Hi Javier,

I don't seem to have received an email from Kelly regarding the logistics of sending you samples of the ERM. Would it be possible for you to resend that email? Also as a quick test I added an extra resistive load in series with the 307-103 (4.7 ohms) since its terminal resistance (5.7 Ohms) was below the minimum impedance (8 ohms) of the DRV2604L, but that too did not result in a proper calibration. Thanks.
