TPS2379: POE PSE compatibility

Guru 14820 points
Part Number: TPS2379

Hello Team,

I am planning to use TPS2379 in POE PD application.

will it work with 802.3af POE class 0 PSE, EXAMPLE - D Link DES-F1009P-E (https://in.dlink.com/en/products/des-f1009p-e-9-port-unmanaged-poe-switch)

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

I have not tested with that exact PoE switch, however, the TPS2379 is compliant to IEEE 802.3at standard so as long as the PoE switch is IEEE 802.3 compliant there will be no interoperability concerns. Of note is that it looks like this PoE switch can only send up to 15W/port. If this is enough power for your application, then I recommend you test the PoE switch with the TPS2379 to be sure that they are interoperable.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you!

    Best Regards,

    Brett Colteaux
