Thanks for reaching out.
J2 is the input terminal where the DC bus voltage is applied.
You may apply the DC bias on that jumper within the recommended operating conditions specified on the board with the appropriate current limits.
The actual output current is the current through the laser diode that is dependent on the pulse width, DC bias voltage on J2 and choice of transistor.
I suggest you review the attached document that will clarify any doubts.
