CSD87588N: Pairing with TPS65086

We are using a TPS65086 + CSD87588N to implement a 12V -> 1.5V @ 21A rail. The PCB temperature under the Powerblock will be as high as 100C.

Is there a better (more efficient & lower thermal resistance) powerblock for this application that will pair with the TPA65086?

Yes there are various options for 21A depending on your application/customer requirements for size/cost/performance. I suggest you use the power loss estimation tool on the web here: https://www.ti.com/power-management/mosfets/support-training.html

Scroll down to tools and look for "MOSFET power loss calculator for Synchronous Buck Converter Applications".

This tool will allow you to make the trade off in size /cost/performance in just a couple of minutes based on your specific application needs. The tool provides power loss and then you can see if the power loss is appropriate for the package size with the link to a technical article in the tool.
