TPS2557: Fault pin assert condition of TPS2557DRBT

Hello team,

I received some questions from my customer about the fault pin assertion of TPS2557. I would appreciate if you could give us an advice about it.

Question1: Fault pin assert condition of TPS2557DRBT

Although the specification states that this device is asserted low when it is overheated or overcurrent, is it the only condition that is asserted low? Isn't it asserted low, for example, when input power is lost?

Question2: Temperature Derating Characteristics for several device

They want to know the temperature derating characteristics of the following devices. Where should I check to see if it follows the below conditions?

The customer has just reviewed all the specifications, and they are checking that there are no significant temperature characteristics, such as current output drop below 80% or a 5% output voltage drop happening at a high temperature of +85°C.

  • Hi Ryotaro,

    1. When input power lost, the driver of Mos for Fault will lose power. It sure will be turned low.

    2. As temperature increases, Rds(on) will increase (See figure 10). It's will be one factor to influence the output voltage. But the drop depends on the load current device drawing.
