TPS54622: TPS54622

Part Number: TPS54622

Hello, everyone. There is a problem of power interference. However, it interferes with the operation of our products when plugging and unplugging other electronic products. Our product is 12V to 3.3V; 3.3V to 1.2V. The oscilloscope captured the 1.2V waveform

  1.2v

 12V

 3.3v

thank you

  • Hi,

These measurements seem to have picked-up some noise.

    1) Have you used a "Tip & Barrel" scope probe connection for these measurements?

The standard oscilloscope ground lead connection will pick-up a lot of noise in such measurements and is not recommended.
I am afraid that these measurements need to be captured again with the proper "Tip & Barrel" scope probe connection.

    2) What are you exactly referring to by "There is a problem of power interference"? Any device powers down or resets?
Or is it just these measurements that concern you?

    3) What is on the hardware that is causing the interference when getting plugged and unplugged? Is there a very big capacitor in there?

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Yitzhak Bolurian

  • thank you for your patience
    I don't have"Tip & Barrel" scope probe
I found that it will interfere with FPGA and DDR
The circuit diagram is as follows

  • Hi,

You can make your own "Tip & Barrel" connection by winding a thick/rigid wire around the ground connection of your standard probe.

Please look on the web and search for "Tip & Barrel", this type of connection is common practice in power engineering debug/test.

It is pretty difficult for us to help remotely without having the minimal set of the voltage waveforms.

  • Hi,

Have you had the chance to look into this further and take some measurements?
Is the problem resolved? Please advise.
