TPS55288: and TPS552882 Inquiry

Part Number: TPS55288

Hi,

Good day.

Our customer would like to know if the TPS55288 work the same way as the TPS552882? They are wondering this because the TPS552882 doesn't have an I2C option but the TPS55288 does. I was Also, they want to know if they can still use the TPS55288 without the need of a Microcontroller to set the current and voltage limit.

Thank you.

Regards,

Cedrick

  • Hi Cedrick,

If customer uses TPS55288, they need a microcontroller to set OE (Output Enable) bit to 1 (in MODE register) so that they could see a output voltage. The Voltage and current limit is set by I2C command.

TPS552882 doesn't need a microcontroller. Once the circuit is powered on and EN pin is logic high, the device starts regulating the output voltage to the setting value. Thanks.
