UCC28180: about restart

Part Number: UCC28180

Hello E2E,

Our customer is evaluating the UCC28180 on test board.
In the input voltage instantaneous stop test, when the stop time is 1-msec, some individuals restart normally and some individuals require 200-msec to restart.
When the input voltage drops, VCC also drops, but it does not reach UVLO.

Does TI know what caused it?

Regards,
ACGUY

  • hi ACGUY,

it is likely that at some condition of input voltage instantaneous stop, the Vcomp Voltage do not drop , then input voltage back again, at this condition, since there is no restart even, the stop time will be 1 msec , when Vcomp is full discharge, then the controller need a fully restart even, that cause a longer start up at 200ms.

and this two evens should all be a normal logic for this controller.
