TPS54302: WEbench design

Part Number: TPS54302
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54202,

We're facing a problem when using the WEBENCH to design.

Conditions:

Vin: 20V to 28V

Vout: 15V

Iout=0.5A

When use the WEBENCH tool, it shows the failed with max. duty cycle problem. However, we use the TPS54202/202H they're ok with this conditions.

The TPS54302 should be able to support up to 3A, shouldn't?

  • Hello,

    I took a look at this WebBench model failure. It appears that the model is flagging an error since 500mA of load current is at the boundary between DCM and CCM operation of the converter. I would have to refer this to the modeling team to determine why the error is arising on the WebBench tool. If you are looking for a design to simulate on WebBench, I would recommend possibly using 0.6A or 0.4A as a starting point. Please feel free to reach out regarding questions about how the load current may affect performance if you do follow that approach as well.

    Sincerely,

    Alec Biesterfeld

  • Hi ,

    sorry for this webench error .

    please find the 20-28Vin to 15Vout with 0.4A report .
