TPS23881: The engineer is asking the 60950-1 or 62368-1 safety document for TPS23881RTQR, TPS23882RTQR, TPS23756PWPR

Part Number: TPS23881

Hi Expert,

The engineer is asking the safety document for TPS23881RTQR, TPS23882RTQR, TPS23756PWPR.

Likes 60950-1 or 62368-1 for them.

May we know whether these sockets have the certifications for each of them. If yes, pls share us.

If not,pls advice the rules to deal with  PSE and PD IC of safety coverage.

Thanks

Best regards,

Eric Lai

  • Hi Eric,

These IEC standards mentioned in the isolation spec of the standard are system level tests and tested at the end equipment level and not the IC level. You have to make sure the isolation components (power transformers, data transformer, optos, i2c isolators) that you see on the PSE and PD designs meet one of the three isolation strength tests described in the standard. For our EVMs and TI Designs, we usually select these components to meet these requirements. However, we do not do these system level tests and the EVM/TI Design level as it's only a small part of the entire end equipment which will have it's own other isolation components. Again, note it does not directly relate to the IC (PSE/PD controllers). Thanks!
