Hi Sir,

may we know the over current protection about TPS22975,

1.what is the protection behavior when over the rate current of 6A?

2.if shutdown, is there recovery function? or must be power on again?

3. is there output short circuit protect? what is the working principle of short circuit?

Hi Tommy,

1. TPS22975 does not have any sort of overcurrent protection. It cannot clamp current or turn off if there is a large current pull. This large current could damage the device.

2. After thermal shutdown, the switch will automatically turn on again after it has cooled down by the shutdown hysteresis value specified in the datasheet.

3. It does not have any output short protection. We offer devices like TPS22950 and TPS22919 with these features but they have a lower current capability.
