BQ78PL116 and AUX file.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL114

Hi all

is it possible to create an AUX file for only one cell and load it for packs of the same chemistry with more than 1 cell?

or do you need to the specific number of cells you are gonn'a use for production...

thanks for any help

  • Mr Aloni ,

If your message has been replied , could you please share it with us.

  • Hi all,

My massage was not replied, but I learn the answer myself,

the AUX file is intended to complete the setting of the battery system,
the CHEM file is for the cell itself, while the AUX file gives information about the behaviour of the typical Pack.

It updates the RA0-14 parameters and helps to forcast the estimated SOC and more stuff from TI.

then the answer was no, :-)

you will need the whole pack.

(TI employees are welcome to confirm my answer)

  • Mr Aloni ,

Thank you very much for the answer. I would like to ask another question , is it possible to change the amount of charging/discharging current for the learning (aux file generation) process described in slua505b - Chemistry Selection for bq78PL114. Can we  use such a rate of  C/5 for aux file generation tests.

  • Hi,

I had the same problem and that is why I raised the initial question.
it is hard to supply C/2 current for large packs....

I think the problem will be that C/5 garanty a ~2 hour charge and discharge, and the system samples every 2 seconds,
if you use C/5 there will be too much data for the system to calculate.

I ended up using 2 power supply in series, and that solved the problem.

    Good Luck
