Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ75614-Q1, BQ79616-Q1, BQ76PL455A

Dear team,

In case of BQ76952, How many device can be stacked?

The customer application is ESS with 112 series cell.

1. If the BQ76952 can be stacked up to 7 device for 112 cell application, Is there any reference design or application note for customer concept.

2. If the BQ76952 is not proper solution for 112 cell, Please recommend right solution.

their requirement are min 14ch monitor and 9 thermistor input per device.

Please let me know your opinion.

Thank you.

  • Hi Dino,

    1. The BQ76952 has no stacking interface so each device needs an isolator and some communication multiplexing method. If you need rapid response from signaling from the device you will need level translation on each output also.

    2. You might see the BQ79616-Q1 or BQ75614-Q1  which may more directly suit your needs.  They have a different set of support specialists if you have questions after reviewing the information.

  • Hello WM5295,

    Thank you for your comment.

Do you mean BQ79616-Q1 have stacking interface and there is no solution of industrial rating with stacking interface that monitoring 14S is possible? Is it right?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Dino,

There is the BQ76PL455A shown in the selection guides which can be found at www.ti.com/battery   It is industrial and stackable, it is an older part and seems to be more expensive. Again it has a different set of support specialists.
