UCC27524: ROH parameter

Part Number: UCC27524

Hi sir,

In the datasheet of ucc27524, there is a description about Roh parameter:

The pulldown structure in the UCC27524A device is simply composed of a N-Channel MOSFET. The ROL

parameter (see Electrical Characteristics), which is also a DC measurement, is representative of the impedance

of the pulldown stage in the device. In the UCC27524A device, the effective resistance of the hybrid pullup

structure during turnon is estimated to be approximately 1.5 × ROL, estimated based on design considerations.

Does this description refer to the entire on time of the MOSFET we want to drive or just the instant during the Miller plateau region?

Roh output pullup resistance is 5 Ω, Why is the evaluation result only 1.5 * RoL, that is, 0.75 ohm?

Regards,

Stallone

  • Hi, Stallone,

The nmos in the high-side location basically turns on when the OUT is 3V or more less than VCC.  The source is connected to OUT, and the gate is driven by VCC. So, as OUT rises, the VGS decreases, and it turns off when the OUT gets to about VCC-3V.

    Best regards,
