Hi 

We are using BQ40Z50-R1 for our battery pack design.

The BQ40z59-r1 IC is unavailable for the production.

We found the Lead time for those IC is Higher too and we cannot buy from any websites.. When can we able to get IC for purchasing or our production.

Is their any readily  available  alternate for BQ40z50r1 IC  without  any major changes on both Hardware(pin outs) and  software to use on the design

    Anandan,

    Long lead times are expected in the current semiconductor environment. One suggestion is to click on the "notify me when available" button on the ordering section of the product page so you will get notified of stock replenishment. I suggest doing this for BQ40z50, BQ40z50-R1, and BQ40z50-R2 since you can program the appropriate FW on any of those chips. Another suggestion is that if you're working with a distributor that procures the materials for you, to escalate your priority allocation with them. 

    Regarding available alternatives, there are none that won't require major changes. There are slightly older gauges that support 4S packs that do have supply such as BQ20z655-R1: https://www.ti.com/product/BQ20Z655-R1. Current supply at the time of this post is about 115ku.

    Hi Rushi

    While using the older gauges IC BQ20Z655-R1 will be supported by Ti. The Software required for this Gauge and Bq Studio will be supported during production and in future??

    This device uses a previous SW called bqEVSW. It does not use bqStudio. Download link is available in the software development section of the product page. If you have questions you can always post to our E2E forum like you did here and a member of our applications team will support you.
