BQ2205LY: - RST pin remains low

Part Number: BQ2205LY

Good afternoon.

Without a battery at BCP, i have a few BQ2205LY that keep the RST pin low after power-up.

Vout starts rising but it remains at 1V (aprox.).

With the board without power, we place the battery.

On the first power-up, sometimes the RST pin stays low and Vout "follows" VCC.

On the second power-up RST pin will go high, as expected.

All the times required are OK.

What seems to be the problem?

Thank you.

Marco

  • Marco,

You posted this question to the battery gauge team which is not the correct owner of this device. I will look into who the correct team is to respond to this question and get this thread assigned to them.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Marco,

The recommended operating conditions are for VBC (voltage at BCp) to be between 2 and 4V.

It seems you have demonstrated some parts have a power up sequence dependency.  If you think these are bad, return them through the supply chain for evaluation.
