BQ25883: input current limit without D+ D- detection.

Hi, 

      my customer is evaluating BQ25883, but they will not use input source type Detection based on D+/D– . if not use these two pins, according to my understanding, BQ25883 will limit current to 500mA, then I can use SW to set the IINDPM register to decide the input current limitation manually . right?

    Hi,

     

    Correct. If the D+/D- pins are floating, then the BQ25883 will detect an SDP when VBUS is plugged in, and the default input current limit will be set to 500 mA. Afterwards, the host MCU can change the input current limit setting by writing to the IINDPM register.
